“Foreplay is for sissies! Real men go in, unload, and pull out!” We watched “But I’m a Cheerleader” with our friend Zoë Secrest, and like its heroine Megan (Natasha Lyonne) we might or might not have been eating tofu and had a giant Melissa Etheridge poster in our bedrooms growing up. A staple of queer cinema of the early 00s, we love this razor sharp and hilarious satire by writer/director Jamie Babbit Join us as we follow Megan as she falls down the rabbit hole of gay conversion camp at ‘New Directions’ lead by Cathy Moriarty and RuPaul Charles. We want to be best friends with lesbian icon Clea Duvall, and can agree that Moriarty screaming sexual positions over a megaphone is a mood.
