Movies That Made Us Gay

Apr 3, 2020

This era of social distancing would be the perfect time to begin a correspondence course in witchcraft! We watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks with friend of the pod Darren Elms and we Stan Angela Lansbury. It’s WWII and Miss Price (Lansbury) gets saddled with some cockney waifs at her English countryside manor.  There will be no bubble and squeak or toad in the hole for these kids - Miss Price only eats flowers and sticks apparently.  We grant this movie the dubious honor of “Mary Poppins for kids who read books” and I’m still not sure if thats a read. Practicing witchcraft to support the war effort, putting a child in charge of the flying bed and riding around town on a motorbike with a sidecar are just some of the reasons Eglantine Price is a queer icon.
